Jeffree vs Carnagie

Carnegie vs Star

Jeffree Star was born in California on November 15, 1985. He is 34 years old and lives with his boyfriend Nathan Schwandt in Beverly Hills California. Jeffree’s past was rough after Jeffrey’s dad committed suicide in 1991, Jeffree was raised by his single mom. Jeffree’s mom worked as a model and put almost all of her money towards supporting their family. Jeffree later discovered his passion for makeup when he was about 13. Jeffree would spend his time alone experimenting with makeup while his mom worked.

Carnegie was born in Dunfermline, United Kingdom on November 25, 1835. Andrew is 83 years old. When Andrew was 13 in 1848, his family decided to move to the United States with very little money. Andrew got a job along with his dad and made $1.25 a week to help support his family. Andrew later that year switched jobs to a telegraph messenger, then got promoted to the telegraph operator position in early 1851. Andrew was doing good in terms of having a work position, in 1853 Andrew found himself working at the Pennsylvania railroad.

Jeffree star was not always rich, compared to now with a net worth of over $40 million. Jeffree made a strong decision in 2014 to invest his life savings in his makeup brand, Jeffree Star Cosmetics. This led Jeffree to ending his music career, then going bankrupt with an uncertain future. Jeffree then discovered what was called myspace and became famous for having the most amount of followers ever on the myspace website. Jeffree took advantage of this and used his myspace to promote his makeup brand. As Jeffrey’s brand was beginning to kick off, Jeffrey decided to start a YouTube channel, this gave Jeffrey more of an opportunity to promote his makeup brand. When Jeffree made enough money from his makeup sales, he decided to invest in properties and got more money back from that.

Andrew Carnegie didn’t always have money either. Carnegie started out making $1.25 when he got a job along with his dad. Carnegie was later promoted to better jobs and eventually was in the manager placement of a railroad company. Carnegie became a bond salesman raising money for people in Europe. Carnegie also built and put together the Pittsburgh Carnegie Steel company which he had sold to JPMorgan in 1901 for over $303,450,000. That, later on, became the u.s. Steel Corporation. Andrew decided to resign and use the money that he wasn’t using for himself to help other people.

Jeffree Star gives back to the community in a lot of ways. One of those ways is donating to select charities such as the LGBTQ Center of Los Angeles where Jeffree donated $125,000, and $20,000 to the Orlando Victims fund. Jeffree has donated too much more charities recently and as of his social media tweets, also plans to donate more in the future.
Andrew Carnegie donated in many ways. More towards when Carnegie sold his business to Jp morgan and retired in 1901. Carnegie at the age of 66 decided to give away his fortune by funding to the Carnegie institution, to support scientific research. Carnegie also gave money to

towns and cities to build over 2,000 public libraries. He also gave $125 million to something called the Carnegie Corporation to aid colleges and other schools.

I feel like Jeffree star would leave behind a positive legacy for the most part. I feel this way because Jeffree is known for being generous with his fame and money. I feel like when Jeffree is gone we will have his makeup brand to remember him by. The only negatives to Jeffree’s legacy, in my opinion, I would say is being a little bit of a problem starter. This is well known in the beauty community and I would not want Jeffree to be remembered as a drama starter but, Jeffree and many other celebrities tend to start drama very quickly. Overall I feel like Jeffree will be remembered by his generosity and makeup brand.

I feel like Andrew Carnegie left  Behind a negative Legacy. I feel this way because Carnegie did not pay his workers well and his workers were the ones helping him earn his money. Even though Carnegie decided to give away his fortune when he retired in 1901 after selling his business to JPMorgan, some of Andrews’s workers had to go on strike to get more money. In the end, the strike did not help and some workers were forced to stay with Andrews company because they did not have any other way of getting paid to support their families. Andrew did give away his fortune by donating it all to charities when he retired but I still don’t think that’s enough to pay back his once struggling workers.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
